1. I will be in the UK next week. I have an older Macbook 13″ (the last model that allowed you to change the battery) and a Macbook Pro (current model_ that currently has a Spanish keyboard. Would it be possible to put the Spanish keyboard in the older macbook, and put a new English (or Polish) one in the Macbook Pro ?
I will only be there for a couple of days so would like to organise in advance and bring both machines down when possible.

2. Ive just bought a second hand Macbook white 13.3 inches 2,2 gb, and i need some help, basically a new charger and also my driver needs check, its hard to put and eject disc, probably i need other services aswell. Could I bring my mac for you tomorrow?

3. problem with keyboard. Press certain buttons and odd letters come after. Example: pruoblemv with keyboarud. pruess cerutain bruttins and odd letterus comve afjteru
To my knowledge nothings been spilt on the laptop but it was off for and month and then started doing this and battery pack died aswell
How much would it cost to repair the keyboard?

4.I have a mac that is not getting past the grey apple screen at startup. We have tried safe start and are now trying to get as much of the data off as possible using target mode but the files aren’t copying across. I wonder if you could help? I will be able to bring it in tomorrow afternoon if you have a slot.

5. Hi Mac Repair Leeds team, I am wanting to update my old iBook G4 to OS X Leopard. It is currently running 10.3.9. Specs are 933 Mhz PowerPC G4, 1.12 GB DDR SDRAM. I have a Macbook Pro running 10.6.5, and have tried to use the original OS X 10.5.2 install disks to upgrade the G4 – no luck.  Do you do this service, and if so, can you please give me a quote on how much it will cost and how long it will take.
.
6. I have an iBook G4 which will no longer boot. It just hangs with folder displaying a flashing question mark. Occassionaly it will boot as far as the OSX desktop then returns a kernel message telling me I need to restart my iBook. Unfortunately, it also has the OSX boot disk stuck in the superdrive (although it did manage to mount and read it sucessfully on one occassion before the kernel panic). I’m told by the ‘Genius’ guys that its either a logic board failure or memory failure but as the G4 iBook is such a ‘pig’ to work on, its beyond economical repair. This is disapointing as I only got around two years out of it from new before it failed and its been stuck on the shelf gathering dust since. Can you advise please if it would be repairable and approximate costs (assuming a replacement superdrive).
.
7. I have a late 2006 15″ intel macbook pro and have a problem with the left fan. It is constantly making a racket despite using programs to try and control the speed. I understand this is a common problem with this generation of MBP’s. I have looked at guides to fix this online but get a bit squeamish once i get to unhooking circuits. Would you be able to give me a quote for a clean of the fan or a replacement?
.
8. My CD drive isn’t working. I had it repaired last year and it was working fine up until then. It hasn’t been dropped (as far as I am aware) and there aren’t any dents suggesting something has been dropped on the keyboard. I had a CD trapped in there for a little while but it was constantly whirring and finally one day, a little bit of the CD popped out and I managed to grab hold of it with a pair of tweezers and get it out. I have just tried to see if it will take a CD and it’s not having it. I also have an iPod classic and the headphone jack has broken, there is sound only coming out of one earphone.  I would like to get both fixed at the same time. Please let me know what the options are and the prices.I can’t take calls at work but have access to my emails so if you email me with the info, I can call up and arrange an appt.

9. Hi Mac Repairs Leeds, I am looking to get my MacBook Pro’s hard drive upgraded. It is a first generation Macbook Pro, I have been told that the largest I can get is 500GB. I would need to have all my data cloned across from the existing hard drive as well.
.
10. I have an Apple Mac Powerbook G4 15″ laptop which I am unable to use at the moment as the small jack that makes up part of the power supply (model number A1021) has snapped off and is jammed in the female part of the socket. I am unable to remove this myself as I believe it could be caught in the mechanism that holds the power supply in place. Is this a repair that you might be able to assist with. Thank you mac repair leeds.
.
11. I need a replacement battery and the bottom casing is broken and needs replacing too. I would also like the top casing (where the keyboard) is replacing if possible. I have had a quote from the Apple store but wondered if you could quote me how much it would cost including labour please? I don’t know off hand which model it is but its from around 2006.
.
12. I have a 2007 white iMac with serial number: Of late it’s been acting up a bit and because of it’s age I’m concerned that the HDD might be on it’s way out. By that I mean that if I have external HDD’s connected on start up sometimes it stays on the initial grey screen with the apple logo for longer than normal and “double boots” ie. chimes again and restarts the startup process. Finder has a habit of crashing hard while under very low load making the machine completely unresponsive with the only option being pressing and holding the power button. Running permissions and repairs from Disk Utility doesn’t seem to make any long term difference and doesn’t find any problems other than a whole bunch of Java crap, which after a google seems to be a common trait. I am running Disk Utility while booted into the main HDD as I’m running Snow Leopard which was installed from a “friends copy” I only have Tiger disks which I can’t boot from. So, any thought on what might be causing the problems? Does it sound like software? Or the HDD, if it’s the HDD what would be the likely costs of a new internal disk?

13. My macbook freezes all the time, especially when i try to use safari which most of the times is not responding at all. I tried all the tips from the appleforums and the everything mac booklet but nothing changed. I did the hardware test and i got 4HDD/11/40000004:SATA(0,0) error which i assume has something to do witht he hardrive. I bought it less than a year ago. What should i do? If the hardrive fails and i need a new one do i get it free because of the one year warranty?
.
14. Hi Mac Repairs Leeds, I have an iMac (2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) which has a 320gb hard drive, but I need to upgrade to more as it’s nearly full and I want to install Logic. Could you give a price for what it would be? Perhaps to 640gb, or even 1TB?
.
15. Hi, I recentley tried to move my I tunes music library from my Mac Mini to my pc using an external hard drive. I didn’t manage to do this and now can’t use the library on the mac. I get the message. the library is not in its origonal location,(although all artist / song listsings are still there) would you like to locate it now. If i brought the mac to you, would you be able to restore my music library back to where it should be. If so , when could I bring it to you, How long would this take and what would be the cost of this work. Thank you very much .

16. My ageing iBook G4 is finally at the of the road but I’d like to rescue it! It hasn’t been used for a long time, approximately 6 months. Prior to that, it needed to be plugged on charge all the time as the battery life was about 5 minutes.
It was also very slow and had problems connecting to the internet (any modem/broadband service issues were resolved or checked with another wireless laptop). I suspect it needs a new hard drive, battery and general clean up to revive it. Hope this is possible and would appreciate a rough estimate or advice.

17. I have a 2010 core i5 imac. When I purchased it I opted not to go with the secondary SSD option and instead when with the 1TB standard hard drive config. I would now like to have an secondary SSD fitted and was wondering if this is a service you could offer?
